How to Follow A Holistic Beauty Routine

Here is an example of how your daily holistic beauty routine should look like.

1. Drinking water first thing in the morning:

Before you eat or drink anything else, you should always try to have at least two glasses of water as soon as you wake up. Drinking water first thing in the morning helps to balance your lymphatic drainage system.

I recommend warm lemon water if you have some extra time in the morning because it is a great way to jump-start your digestion, get some Vitamin C, and improve your skin quality.

2. Healthy Eating:

It would help your skin if you tried a healthy diet full of antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins, fiber, and protein.

Recipe idea- Kale salad with salmon, pomegranate seeds, goat cheese, sunflower seeds, cucumber, beets, and topped with fresh lemon and basil vinaigrette.

3. Exercise:

Exercising is beneficial no matter what time of the day. But it's even better for you if you work out first thing in the morning before you eat. Even if you only have time for a quick 10-minute workout. Working out before you eat burns stored fat by converting it into energy. I like to dance, run in place or do yoga.

4. Use natural skincare cleansers:

Avoid ingredients that will dry out or irritate your skin. You want to use cleansers that don't strip your natural oils but balance the sebum levels instead. I love Sigi Skin's Kaleanser Face Wash.

5. Use natural oils:

Natural oils are very beneficial for your skin.

"The right combinations of oils targeted for different skincare needs provide powerful properties to normalize oil production, reduce the signs of aging, and refine the skin's texture. When blended according to skin type, natural oils do not cause oily skin or clog pores. Only when we use synthetic oils (like mineral oil) or some heavy (comedogenic) oils, do we run into these problems." I like Jojoba oil because it's anti-inflammatory.

6. Gentle exfoliation:

Exfoliation is a great way to refresh the skin by removing dead skin cells. But you don't want to overdo it. I like to exfoliate once a week using SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub

7. Wear Sunscreen:

Sun is an excellent source of Vitamin D, so getting about 10 minutes of direct sun exposure a day is ok. However, I recommend wearing sunscreen if you plan on being outside longer than that.

8. Meditate:

I like to listen to a relaxing well I sleep. When I wake up I listen to positive affirmation. Doing this helps me to be in a good mood for the day.

9. Sleep:

Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Not getting enough sleep results in dark circles and saggy skin. When we sleep, our body detoxes and rejuvenates itself

10. Have fun and be happy!
