OH NO! I FELL ASLEEP WITH MY MAKE UP ON… NOW WHAT!?

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Sadly, a lot of us have had that kind of awful and horrible night where we were just too tired to go through the process of removing our makeup. Even with a make up wipe that we specifically bought in case we were having that kind of night. When we wake up, and we are hit with instant shame and fear. “I fell asleep with my makeup on. I can’t believe I did that. I ruined my skin and now my face is going to probably fall off.” You know thoughts like that.

So, what can we do to lesson the damage? Check out my tips below!

Step 1: Cleanse your face

Make sure you go to the bathroom and remove all your make up with a gentle cleanser that won’t dry your skin out further than it already is. Sometimes I just use something simple such as CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser.

Step 2: Damage Control

After I cleanse my face, I immediately try to repair my skin. I will use both an eye mask and full-face mask. One that promises to hydrate and moisturize. I recommend Dr Morita Hyaluronic Acid Essence Face Mask and Patchology Rejuvenating Eye Gels. Shortly after I will apply good eye cream. Such as Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream. Followed by a long-lasting moisturizer. I like Belif The True Cream- moisturizing bomb.

Step 3: Skip Makeup

If possible, I suggest not wearing any make up that day. Or as little as possible. If you must leave the house with makeup on. you can do something simple like Mascara and lip gloss/lipstick. Try to skip the concealer but if you can’t, make sure to pick a hydrating one with natural ingredients. I like 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented 2nd Skin Concealer. Sun Screen is a must! I recommend Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion Wetforce SPF 50+.

Step 4: Pray

Pray to The Skincare Gods to forgive you for breaking their most sacred rule. 😊

Shhhh, this was me this morning. :)
