UNICORN SLEEP

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

I often share with you my favorite beauty products, but today I want to focus on lifestyle and how it also affects your skin. Skincare not only has to do with the creams, serums, cleansers, etc. that you use. It also has to do with how you take care of yourself.

Do we eat healthy enough, do we get enough vitamins, and do we get enough sleep? How we are doing in these categories also affect our skin.

We don't realize how important getting enough sleep is when it comes to maintaining healthy skin. Lack of sleep does more then cause dark eye circles, it affects your moisture levels. Your body can't produce moisture, causing your skin to become very dry and red. Your cells become inflamed causing your collagen and hyaluronic acid levels to break down and existing skincare problems become worse. So basically not getting enough sleep accelerates the aging process.

I understand that sometimes our lifestyles don't allow us to get enough sleep. Nor does it always allow us to go to sleep at the appropriate times. I have one of those lifestyles that sometimes affects how well I sleep.

Two of the things I do to help me sleep better that I think would be helpful to you as well are:

1) Take melatonin and magnesium:

This is good if you absolutely can not fall asleep and prefer something that will naturally relax you.

2) Using a sleep mask when you can:

Sleep masks are one of my favorite accessories because they block out the light. So if you need to sleep on the plane, on a bus or in a car you don't have to see the light that causes you to stay awake. If you went to bed really late and wanted to sleep in, it blocks the sunlight. You can even find super cute masks, such as my unicorn mask that is soft and gentle on the eyes.

I hope that my tips can help you sleep better! Do you have any tips for me?

XOXO.

Lynn Anna
